bass is what we want

about

Blue Note Records had a vinyl outlet in North Miami Beach, on 164th street and 14th avenue. Truly a mecca of digging; matter of fact, I met Young Guru there as he was assisting another producer looking for records for Jay-Z's The Black Album; but I digress. One day I see this CD of this dude leaning on a wall in some boho fashion and it was titled Miami Electro Bass Classics. That dude's name? Amos Larkins the Third. Bought it, jammed it, playing Connie's Funky Beat on repeat. Driving to class and being stuck in traffic, I decide to play disc 2 with the instrumentals and bonus joints, and that's when I came across THIS.

It took me damn near five years to write something to it and I still wish I had the vocals to PE's Black Steel in The Hour of Chaos so there can be proper sampling and cutting, but we'll see if someone takes this and remixes the fuck out of it.

lyrics

*only the first verse*

bass! eight after eight in the pm
four hours ago, got my license from the dm
now brothers want to be him
ladies want to feel those 12s outdo the sybians for their simians
needless to say without a doubt i get it in
the left guides the car the right makes the selection
turn the knob looking for something to make my head nod
it's on batteries juiced to make the bass strong
we gone chevrolet camaro with the glass tops
go off rubber meets the road and we blast off
95 south the traffic isn't an issue
vroom immersed in the bass like fondue
knuckleheads rev their engine for my attention
wanting to race i wave them off from my direction
i only battle on the audio tip
don't believe the curse come and test the gift
